Hello Strat Sketch Team,

Update 187 for War of Rights that was released this month has performed an overhaul on the existing 'cartoon' style maps available in-game and added the remaining maps for the new game mode launched earlier this year. I'm personally cataloguing these maps and archiving them for personal use, along with basic POC details, and wish to offer your team these maps so that you may update the "War of Rights" maps in your default options to be update to date and inclusive.

See below for a sample (added the title of the map area, and potential points of contention not currently active on the map). If you are interested in replacing the old maps and/or adding the new ones, would you be able to use IMGUR as the method of receiving the updated maps from me?

Hi,

I will get these added for the new verison of StratSketch that will be released next month. How are exporting these images? Are they in game screenshots or did you find a way to get them from the game files? It would be great to get in contact with the developers so we can get high quality minimaps from them.

These are in-game screen shots of in-game maps, that I then modified for some additional symbols. I haven't asked the developers about the availability on their end, though idk if they can get the additional symbols. They did say I could share publicly.

Ok, I reached out and unfortunately they do not have the maps like this since the icons and such are placed dynamically. For world of tanks, we do handle dynamic maps and adjust the spawn points depending on the game mode, but that is more work to support.

Since I am not familiar with the game, some questions for you:

• Are the map icons (USA/CSA points, etc) always in the same places?
• How did you take the screenshots in game? Does it require joining a match or can you browse the maps another way?

• The 'conventional' mainspawn locations have been designated on my images shared. There is a feature to 'invert' the spawns or have them randomly invert from map to map. However, the specific spawn locations are known as 'CSA Spawn' or 'Union Spawn' because it's been rare that they invert.

• I used Steam to take screen shots of the base images in-game. I couldn't really figure a way to get higher resolution conveniently, but given the map is a cartoon and already a bit vague, I didn't feel much was lost with lower resolution. The maps you currently have available are even 'more cartoony' and disproportionate, and also lacking a lot of the existing maps.

As an update, I believe I may finish capturing the remaining maps and uploading them to Imgur tonight and will go ahead and share them.

Ok, thank you. How easy is it to capture them though? Like do you need to join a match for the specified map or is there a way to browse though the maps easily in game? I don't have it so not sure how it works, but I may buy it so I can capture them myself. Just curious how long it would take.

Unfortunately, it's a very basic early access game with primitive features. I believe the only way to get the image is to join a round with that map currently being active. I am a server owner, so I take my empty server that I pay for, and cycle through the maps manually and sit through the transitions to take the base screen shots. I'm then modifying for the extra (but basic) symbols and title of the map.

I wanted to provide the images because I do believe it is a labor intensive process that does require a bit of knowledge about the game. I can understand the reason why things hadn't been provided in the past or kept up to date.

Ok, that was what I was afraid of. In that case, I will gladly use the maps you are providing in order to save time. I think I will end up cropping them so that they are exactly square and don't show the map name or the black border around them. If you can do that for future maps that would be great, but I can manually fix the ones already uploaded.

Also I noticed one (Limestone Bridge) has a watermark on it, if you could retake that one. I haven't checked all of them yet.

I do have an AI upscaling process that I can use to increase the quality. It works surprisingly well, and I did it for the old maps before you made this thread - they turned out great and look like they are nearly 4K quality. Once you get all of the new ones uploaded I will do the same.

I'm wrapping up the next version so these should be ready to go in a few weeks :)

I will try to accommodate your points on remaining:

• Black Border: I'll try to crop these out
• Title: I think it's valuable to have this, but I can shift it so it eats into the map, as previous cartoon maps have done
• Limestone Bridge: That offwhite blank space in Southeast corner is part of the new map for some reason, it's mostly out of bounds, but not much I can do about it.

Upscaling sounds great, might be able to redo other maps as per some of these parameters

If the name could be shifted into the corner like the old maps I think that would be great, it just makes it non-square where it is right now. For example: https://i.imgur.com/oXPfoFg.jpg (this is what I had for the new version before this thread)
