Hi everyone, it has been a while since I last posted about the progress of StratSketch web. I've made a ton of progress since the last update and have a few things to share with you.
At this point, most of StratSketch is done, just a few small features that are incomplete. I'd give an estimate that it is 90% done. Originally I had aimed for a beta in April, but I will have to push it back a bit as I underestimated how much work there would be to do as far as setting up servers and working on some backend services.
I'm really excited to let everyone try out the web version of StratSketch but I am not comfortable trying to rush it out before the next Clan Wars campaign starting April 18th.
The Plan
I'm going to spend the next few weeks working on our internal monitoring tools, adding the final features to StratSketch, and fixing any remaining bugs.
I want to do a beta test so that StratSketch can undergo some more rigorous testing after I finish this. I was planning for a closed beta, but coordinating who has access and their clan members will be more trouble than it is worth so I am leaning towards doing a public beta with a disclaimer that there may be small bugs and frequent updates and server crashes/restarts until it is ready for release. Two weeks of beta testing should be enough to go for a full release and get everyone on the new web based version.
Translations and Help
Thank you to everyone who helped translate StratSketch and answered the survey questions. If you are interested in helping translate StratSketch then please see this topic. Anyone who translates a significant amount will get the donor rewards that patrons get.
I could also use help in paying for the servers for StratSketch web as the new version will be using five times as many servers to power it, which will help reduce lag and keep issues affecting one server from affecting everyone. If you would like to support StratSketch on Patreon, you will get a few small rewards in return.
That's it for now, expect an announcement in a few weeks regarding the beginning of beta testing!
